Da Hood Beginner Guide: Weapons & Controls (2026)

Da Hood Beginner Guide: Weapons & Controls (2026)

Let's be real - Da Hood will destroy you the first time you play it. You'll spawn, walk three steps, and get dropped by someone with a Revolver before you even figure out the controls. It's brutal. But once you learn the mechanics, this game is addictive. This guide covers every control, the weapons that actually matter, and how to stop being everyone's free kill.

Want a tough Roblox profile? Our Roblox bio generator makes custom street-themed bios.

Controls You Need to Know (PC)

Memorize these before you do anything else:

  • W / A / S / D - Move around
  • Left Shift - Sprint
  • Left Ctrl - Crouch
  • Left Click - Attack / Shoot (with weapon equipped)
  • F - Block / Weave (timing matters A LOT)
  • E - Stomp (stand over a downed player)
  • G - Carry a player
  • Shift + G - Ragdoll (makes you fall over)
  • 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 - Switch inventory slots
  • Spacebar - Jump
The three most important controls: F (block/weave), quick slot switching (1-5), and E (stomp). Master these three and you're already better than most beginners.

Which Weapons Are Worth Buying?

Not all weapons are equal. Here's what to buy and what to skip:

S Tier - The Meta

  • Revolver - Best all-around weapon. High damage at mid-range, fast swap speed. Every good player carries one. Chip their health, then swap to finish.
  • Double Barrel Shotgun (DB) - The finisher. Two shots of massive close-range damage. Weaken with Revolver, swap to DB, game over.

A Tier - Solid Options

  • Pump Shotgun - More forgiving than the DB since it holds more shots. Less burst but more consistent.
  • AK-47 - Melts people at medium range if you've got good aim. Great once their armor breaks.
  • RPG-7 - Highest damage in the game. Area damage is nuts. Use it to turn 3v1s around. Just watch for self-damage.

B Tier - They'll Do

  • Tactical Shotgun - Decent consistency with a flashlight. Lacks DB's burst though.
  • Bat - Solid melee for saving cash. Good for styling on people in 1v1s.
  • SMG / LMG - Spray weapons. Good for breaking armor but not great for finishing.

C Tier - Don't Bother

  • Knife - Too short range, too low damage.
  • Pistol - Outclassed by Revolver in literally every way.
The loadout 90% of top players use: Revolver + Double Barrel. Buy these two first and learn to swap between them fast.

How to Actually Win Fights

Knowing controls is one thing. Winning is another. Here's what separates good players from free kills:

  • Never stand still. Move constantly - jump, crouch, strafe. A moving target is 10x harder to hit.
  • Learn the Revolver → DB swap. Shoot Revolver 2-3 times at mid range, rush in, swap to Double Barrel for the kill. This is THE combat loop.
  • Time your blocks. Pressing F at the right moment lets you weave attacks. Practice the timing in 1v1s.
  • Watch your ammo. DB only has 2 shots. Miss both? Swap back to Revolver immediately instead of reloading in the open.
  • Use cover. Walls, cars, buildings. Peek, shoot, duck back. Don't fight in open areas.
  • Third-party fights. See two people fighting? Wait until one's low, then jump in. Free kills every time.

How to Stomp & Finish

Downing someone isn't enough - you need to stomp them to actually eliminate them.

  1. Down the enemy - Reduce their health to zero. They'll fall flat.
  2. Stand over them - Walk directly on top of their body.
  3. Press E - Starts the stomp animation and finishes them.

Important stuff about stomping:

  • There's a short window before they get back up. Don't hesitate.
  • You're completely vulnerable during the animation. Look around first - make sure nobody's about to shoot you.
  • If enemies are nearby, sometimes it's smarter to skip the stomp and deal with the threat first.

How to Stop Dying

Staying alive is honestly harder than getting kills. Here's how:

  • Always carry food. Buy popcorn or other food items. Eat after every fight. Never walk around with low health.
  • Keep armor on. Armor absorbs damage before your health takes a hit. Re-buy it every time it breaks.
  • Run with a crew. Solo players get jumped constantly. Groups of 3-4 dominate servers.
  • Know safe zones. Learn where they are and use them to heal, restock, and plan your next move.
  • Don't camp. Staying in one spot makes you an easy target. Keep rotating.
  • Lose a fight? Run. No shame in disengaging. Sprint away, heal, come back ready.
  • Watch your energy bar. Blocking uses energy. Run out and you can't block. Use energy drinks to refill.

Getting Cash Fast

You need money for weapons, food, and armor. Here's how to farm it:

  • Rob cash registers. Walk up and punch them. Hold your attack button for the "ultimate punch" - faster cash.
  • Hit ATMs. Same concept. Found around the map, decent payouts.
  • Loot downed players. When you stomp someone, take their stuff. Cash and weapons.
  • Don't buy expensive guns first. Start with a Revolver (cheapest meta weapon), get kills, loot players, THEN buy the Double Barrel.

Settings for PvP

  • Graphics: Lowest (1 bar). Almost every serious player does this. Lower graphics = higher FPS = smoother fights. Looks don't matter in PvP.
  • Sensitivity: Medium-high. You need to turn fast in close-range fights. Test until you can track moving targets comfortably.
  • Shift Lock: Off. Most experienced players use free camera for better awareness.

Why You Keep Getting Dropped

  • Walking around unarmed. Always have something equipped. You WILL get jumped when you least expect it.
  • Fighting without food. You'll lose every extended fight if you can't heal between exchanges.
  • Standing still while shooting. Movement is the difference between dying instantly and winning.
  • Reloading in the open. Swap weapons instead. DB has 2 shots - swap to Revolver, use those, then swap back.
  • Picking fights with groups. Unless you're experienced, avoid 1v3+. Target solo players first.
  • Buying expensive guns before learning to fight. A skilled Revolver player beats a bad RPG player every time. Learn basics first.
  • Ignoring the gym. You can build muscle at the gym to hit harder. Small edge, but it adds up.
