Flee the Facility is basically hide-and-seek but terrifying. One player's the Beast with a hammer, four survivors hack computers to unlock exits. Sound and movement are everything - one wrong move and you're getting carried to a freeze pod. This guide covers advanced strategies for both roles so you actually start winning rounds instead of just running in circles.

How It Works
- Survivors (4 players) hack enough computers to unlock exits, then escape.
- Beast (1 player) hunts with a hammer. Hit a survivor to freeze them, carry them to a freeze pod.
- Frozen survivors can be rescued by teammates before the freeze completes.
- Survivors win by escaping. Beast wins by freezing everyone.
Playing Survivor
Before You Touch a Computer
- Always plan your escape route. Before touching anything, identify the nearest window, door, or vent.
- Leave doors open. Keep routes clear for quick escapes. Only close doors DURING chases to slow the Beast.
- Use third-person view. Wider FOV helps you spot the Beast earlier.
- Listen for the heartbeat. It gets louder as the Beast approaches. This is your warning system - don't ignore it.
While Hacking
- Use the E-skip trick. Stop and resume hacking every ~5 seconds to shave time off your progress.
- Don't hack alone if possible. Two survivors on one computer finishes faster AND gives you a lookout.
- Watch all entrances. Rotate your camera to see doors while hacking.
During Chases
- Be unpredictable. Beast expects you to go left? Go right.
- Use windows and vents. They break line-of-sight and buy you precious time.
- Wait for ability cooldown. If the Beast just used their special ability, they're weaker. That's your window to juke.
Playing Beast
Finding Survivors
- Patrol computers. Don't camp one spot. Move between them to keep pressure everywhere.
- Listen for hacking sounds. Computer hacking makes noise. Follow it.
- Hide your red glow. Moonwalk (walk sideways) when approaching rooms. This hides your gem glow from survivors peeking around corners.
Chasing Smart
- Don't chase one player forever. If someone's looping you around an object, abandon. Find easier targets.
- Predict movement. Most players circle the same direction. Stop chasing and cut them off instead.
- Guard frozen survivors. After freezing someone, other survivors will try to rescue them. Use the frozen player as bait.
Which Perks to Use
Beast Perks
- Runner - Best for open, flat maps. Close distance quickly.
- Stalker - Best for dark maps. Surprise survivors at computers.
- Seer - Locate survivors when you've lost track. Great for late game.
Survivor Perks
- Sprint - Extra speed burst during chases. Simple but effective.
- Technician - Hack computers faster. Excellent with a coordinated team.
How to Juke Like a Pro
- Window fakeout. Run toward a window, stop right before it, let the Beast commit, then reverse direction.
- Vent diving. Jump into vents to teleport across the map. The Beast can't follow through vents.
- Camera flicking. Quick camera turns while running change your direction suddenly. Makes you really hard to predict.
- Object looping. Run tight circles around tables, pillars, or machinery. Keep the object between you and the Beast.
- Double-back. Run one direction, then suddenly reverse. Works best in hallways.
Hacking Tips
- Hit every green bar perfectly. The minigame rewards precision. Missing bars adds time.
- Start with computers far from Beast spawn. Gives you the most time before they find you.
- Solo hack risky computers last. Save dangerous ones (near Beast patrol routes) for when most are done and the Beast is distracted.
Know Your Map
- Memorize computer spawn locations. They spawn in the same spots every round. Knowing where saves critical time.
- Learn vent networks. Vents connect different parts of the map. Use them for quick escapes.
- Identify hiding spots. Lockers, under desks, behind machinery. Use them when the Beast is nearby but hasn't spotted you.
- Know exit locations. Exits are fixed per map. Always know where the nearest one is.
Why You Keep Getting Caught
- Not listening for the heartbeat. Audio cues are your biggest advantage. Play with headphones. Always.
- Hacking with no escape plan. Always know where to run before touching a computer.
- Chasing one survivor too long (Beast). Abandon bad chases. Pressure other areas instead.
- Grouping too close as survivors. The Beast can catch multiple people if you cluster up. Spread out.
- Ignoring frozen teammates. Rescuing frozen survivors is crucial. Don't let them fully freeze.
- Running in straight lines. Predictable movement gets you caught. Juke and change direction.
